Privacy Policy

This Policy explains how InsightPaint, LLC collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the InsightPaint contractor platform (the “Service”).

1. Who this covers

We act as the controller for account and billing information of the contractors who subscribe to the Service. For the business data a contractor stores about their own customers and projects, the contractor is the controller and we act as a processor handling that data on their behalf.

2. Information we collect

  • Account & billing: name, business name, email, phone, address, and payment details (processed by our payment processor — we do not store full card numbers).
  • Business data you enter: customers, estimates, jobs, invoices, receipts, photos, and messages you create in the Service.
  • Usage & device: log data such as IP address, browser/device type, pages viewed, and login history, used for security and to operate the Service.
  • Communications: messages you send us for support.

3. How we use information

  • Provide, secure, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • Process subscriptions, payments, and prevent fraud.
  • Communicate about your account, updates, and support.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Service providers & sharing

We share information with vendors who help us run the Service under contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations, including:

  • Hosting & database: our cloud infrastructure and database provider.
  • Payments: Stripe and/or Stax for subscription and customer payment processing.
  • Communications: email and SMS delivery providers.
  • Integrations you enable: such as Google Calendar and AI features.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service, and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.

5. Tenant isolation & security

Each contractor’s data is logically isolated from other tenants using row-level security and per-company access controls. We use encryption in transit, scoped access credentials, and access logging. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using commercially reasonable safeguards.

6. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. After account closure, data is preserved for a limited recovery window and then deleted or anonymized, except where we must retain records to meet legal, tax, accounting, or security obligations. You can export your data at any time from your account.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise many of these directly in the app (export and account closure) or by contacting us. Where we act as a processor for your customers’ data, we will assist the responsible contractor with such requests.

8. Children

The Service is for business use and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. International

We operate in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you understand your information will be processed in the U.S.

10. Changes

We may update this Policy. If changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
